Hot on the trail of his North American “Play. Pause. Record” Tour, UK’s Chris Lake comes to Marquee Dayclub on Saturday, July 30th. And anyone who has seen Lake before will know what to expect: To get very sweaty dancing to the freshest tunes in the Rising Music boss’ bag.
In the last five years, Chris Lake has traveled the globe as a DJ and topped industry charts numerous times as a producer, all while chasing down the hottest beats around as a music lover. His previous singles “Changes,” “Only One” and “If You Knew” have all cracked the top ten on Billboard’s U.S. Hot Dance Airplay chart with 2007’s “Carry Me Away” topping the chart at #1. In 2010, Lake collaborated with good friend Deadmau5 for a Michael Woods remix of the song “I Said” which Pete Tong dubbed the first “Essential New Tune of the Decade.” He continues a successful 2011 year as a DJ and producer, with his track “Colours” (a collaboration on his Rising Music label with Nelski) seeing nearly 150,000 views since its release and his track “Secrets in the Dark” becoming an essential infectiously groovy house anthem. As a DJ, Lake’s vibe embraces the darker and deeper side of electronic music, yet still fuses in cheeky edits and homemade tracks, just so the dance floor knows it’s the Chris Lake experience and one to be savored.
